2011年4月13日下午3点，在物理北楼415，由我所毕业校友，现UCLA助理研究员周煦之作学术报告。
报告的题目是：Earth's magnetotail current sheets: information extracted from (THEMIS) observations of particle distributions。
报告摘要：
Lots of information, regarding to the structures and dynamics of the Earth's magnetotail current sheet, are contained in the observations of particle distribution functions. Unlike in situ observations of magnetic & electric fields, particle observations provides not only the plasma characteristics at the spacecraft location, but also those far away from the spacecraft. Here we select a few examples to show how these kinetic information could be extracted, so that we can remotely sense the processes of current sheet activities.
